ABOUT THE TOUR
-
Twlv Stix is a season-long competitive golf tour for everyday golfers who want real competition, real standards, and a reason to keep showing up and getting better. It’s built to turn random rounds into a meaningful season.
-
Twlv Stix is for everyday golfers who care. Busy adults who’ve moved past casual rounds and want something structured to train for, measure themselves against, and feel proud to be part of.
-
Most golf culture swings between two extremes: stiff and intimidating, or sloppy and unserious. Twlv Stix sits in the middle. It’s a legit competitive stage with standards, but the culture stays healthy and welcoming. Competition leads, confidence grows, and community forms naturally through repeated events.
-
It’s a tour. A real season, with events that connect, points races, standards, and a progression that builds toward something bigger. “Tour” is the right word because it signals repetition, pressure, accountability, and a season that matters.
-
Competitive first. That’s the product. The social side is the outcome. You come for real competition and standards, and you stay because the vibe is solid: no ego, no weird politics, just people who respect the game and each other.
MEMBERSHIP & ELIGIBILITY
-
No. You don’t need a membership to play.
However, membership gives you the full tour experience. Members are part of the season-long structure with points races, Net and Gross cash prizing, and end-of-season awards. Guests get a taste. Members get the whole season. -

• To play, you must have an active handicap through Golf Canada, or provide proof of a tracked handicap through apps like The Grint or 18Birdies, or a recent set of scorecards we can verify.
• Once you become a Twlv Stix member, a Golf Canada membership is required. -
Yes. You can join the tour at any point during the season.
While joining earlier gives you more opportunities in the points races, every event stands on its own and new players are welcomed throughout the year.
COMPETITION FORMAT & PRIZING
-
-
To keep competition fair and meaningful, fields are divided into three flights based on handicap.
• Flights are created separately for each event
• Flight ranges are determined by the number of players in each handicap range
• Because field makeup changes, flight ranges may change from event to eventThe goal of flights is simple: you’re competing against golfers of similar ability, So more players stay in contention deeper into the round, with a clear target on the leaderboard.
-
Handicaps are used to create fair Net competition while preserving the integrity of Gross play.
• Net scores are calculated using your verified handicap
• Handicaps are monitored and adjusted as the season progresses
• Any abnormal changes or inconsistencies are reviewed through the Twlv Stix Handicap System (outlined in the Player Handbook) -
-
Each event includes a cash prize pool split evenly: 50% Gross and 50% Net.
• Prize pools are funded through membership fees (50% of membership fees are allocated to prizing)
• Payout amounts are published before each event
• Prizing is designed to reward performance while keeping the tour about competition, not payouts -
The Twlv Stix season includes cumulative points races in both Gross and Net divisions that reward consistency across the year.
• Points are earned based on finishing position at each event
• Separate points races are tracked for Gross and Net (members only)
• Season-long winners are awarded a full-season membership for the following year, along with end-of-season recognitionPoints are finalized after the first 10 events (Regular Season + Majors). The Tour Championship does not award season points and is a separate championship event.
-
Flight winners and on-course contests (Closest-to-the-Pin and Long Drive) are awarded prizing, not cash.
• Prizing varies by event and is often supported by tour partners
• Details and prize lists are posted before each event
• We’ll always publish what’s in play once it’s finalized so expectations are clear
EVENTS & SCHEDULING
-
The Twlv Stix season includes 11 total events:
• 7 Regular Season events
• 3 Major events
• 1 Tour ChampionshipThe season-long points races run across the first 10 events (Regular Season + Majors). Season champions are awarded before the Tour Championship, which is a separate championship event.
-
No. You can play as many or as few events as your schedule allows.
That said, the tour is built to reward consistency. The season-long points races are based on results across the year, and Tour Championship eligibility requires a minimum of 4 season events.
-
Registration opens first to members through the Player Portal.
Members can register for as many events as they want before any spots are released publicly.
If spots remain, registration opens to guests closer to the event date (typically about one week prior).
Once an event is full, a waitlist is created and spots are offered in order as they become available.
-
Golf has fixed costs and limited spots, so refund eligibility depends on timing and whether your spot can be filled.
• If the event is full and your spot is filled from the waitlist, we’ll work with you on a refund or credit
• If your spot cannot be filled, a refund may not be available
• Transfers may be allowed in some cases, but must be approved by the tour
• Full policy details are provided outlined in the Player Handbook
TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP & SEASON END
-
The Tour Championship is the season-ending championship event for Twlv Stix members.
It’s a standalone event with a bigger prize purse and prizing than regular events, built to crown the Tour Champion on the day.
Winners earn the chance to etch their name onto the Twlv Stix Belt.
-
The Tour Championship is members-only. To be eligible, players must compete in a minimum of 4 events during the season.
This ensures the field is made up of players who committed to the season, not just a one-off event.
-
They represent two different achievements.
• The season points champion is rewarded for consistency across the first 10 events (Regular Season + Majors)
• The Tour Champion is crowned based on performance in the Tour Championship event itselfBoth titles matter. One rewards sustained performance over time. The other rewards stepping up on the biggest day.
CULTURE, EXPECTATIONS & VIBE
-
Focused, competitive, and grounded. Players take the golf seriously, but not themselves. You’ll see real preparation, respect for the game, and healthy pressure without ego or nonsense. It’s not stiff or intimidating, and it’s definitely not beer-league chaos. The competition leads. The good vibe is the result.
-
Twlv Stix is built for everyday golfers who care about competing, not true beginners. Most players are comfortable keeping pace, posting scores, and handling competitive situations. If you’re completely new to the game, Twlv Stix likely isn’t the right starting point. The tour is built for golfers who have moved beyond casual rounds and want their golf to carry more meaning.
-
Respect for the game, the field, and yourself. That means showing up prepared, keeping pace, following the rules, and competing with integrity. No ego, no status games, no sloppy or disruptive behavior.
Twlv Stix is a place where people hold themselves to a higher standard so the competition stays real and the culture stays healthy.
